Blackpool is in the North West....

It would depend on your age. Flamingo land looks good, but maybe only if you're 10.

the metro centre is good.

flamingo land is okay, great for the kids but maybe not so much for adults.

blackpool is in the west.

isnt york down a bit though?

trains are good, you could buy a week ticket or something, also buses are reliable and for city to city i would reccommend megabus.com if you book well in advance tickets are £1 per person per way.
