Dont eat near trevi fountain. I paid 15 euros for spagetti and a glass of wine. The spagetti wasnt very good and was served on a paper plate with a plastic knive and fork. As well as that some lady in the flat above spat onto our table below. So my expience was tainted and very much a rip off!

Don't bother with the restaurants on the main street near Trevi Fountain - they're all tourist places and uninteresting. If the weather is nice, Ciampini is a decent choice near the Spanish Steps: http://www.restaurantsomh.com/r21.htm

Nino is also very good near the Spanish Steps. Ribollita is a Tuscan dish rather than Roman, but it's one of my favorites and they do it well.
