  1. The Ping Answer was maybe not the best, but most popular, lots of companies such as Scotty Cameron and Odyssey sort of make a copy of that putter.

  2. Either the black shallow-faced Ram Zebra from the early 1990's, or the Ping Anser 4 that I had in the late 80's, but Im not sure when that came out.  Right now, the Scotty Cameron Red X.  Right now Im using a Taylor Made Rossa Fontana that I got in 04'...I love that thing!

  3. For me it doesn't matter which putter I use :D

It is all about the person doing the putting that matters so i would rather have skill than expensive equipment :)

  4. I had a scotty for the longest time but have recentally switched to a taylormade rossa putter and i absolutly love it. The ball comes perfectally off the face evertime and i wouldnt trade it for anything

  5. to each his own in terms of putting, the best putter of all time is Ben Crenshaw hands down. Their is no doubt that putters today stay on line and roll truer this has been proven by robots. So I guess technically today the bast face in golf today is the f2 putter with microdome insert it stays online more often than any other other putter on the market.

  6. Ben Crenshaw

  7. Eventually I always come back to the good ol' Ping Anser.  I can't think of any other design that has been copied more often.

  8. Ping Answer

  9. YES putter line

  10. 2 BALL!!!!!!!!

its perfectly balaned, and feels great on every kind of putt

  11. Taylor Made Monza Rossa.

    35 inch Shaft

    A1

  12. 2 Ball odyssey!!!

  13. Since 1993, almost 50% of all majors have been won by Scotty Cameron putters. However, take away a certain Mr Woods and that figure drops by more than half!

Ping putters have won more than 2,300 tournaments since 1962. The Anser is the best putter ever - which is why Cameron copied the design for his Newport!

  14. I have a Scotty Cameron Napa.  I really love it and have had it for years.

It is getting a bit old now - needs to be re-blued (gun metal finish).

Last week I saw a Tree Line putter (see source) and just had to have one.  I ordered the Cocobola.

It arrives next week and I can't wait - but it will feel strange retiring old Scotty.

  15. the original ping anser

  16. odyssey white hot steel #6, i have it, and the other day i sunk a 35 foot putt for par! this putter is amazing! or, the Ram Intake putter, great feel and balance.

  17. I have a Nickent Pipe PP02. Gives confidence and awesome feel.

  18. Ping B60

  19. So challenging to answer a question like this -- so many choices, so many innovations.

There are a lot of contenders, and your Scotty Cameron is definitely right up there. Also Bettinardi's B-Studio has been churning out a lot of quality flatsticks, and custom shops like Chip & Lee (350milled.com) do some great work as well. We're not even counting the steelsmiths in Endo and other areas in Japan who utilize the same smithing techniques used for katanas back in the days of the samurai.

That said, the best putter of all time has to be the Ping Anser. While not the most glitzy or pricey, it has won the most tournaments on the PGA tour and has inspired the design of many of the putters on the market today (including many of the Camerons we see in the shops now).

  20. PING Craz-E (center shafted) ... it is awesome.
