your favopurite races, please list some of them, and if you can find any footage so i can see them, would be much appreciated.

here's a few of mine, please watch and tell me what you think of some of my favourite races.....

1) 1986 cox plate, bone crusher and our waverly star went for home early and left the pack for dead, toe to toe racing!............

2) 2006 sprinters stakes in japan, takeover target ran the race of his life to beat silent witness,( silent witness officially rated the best sprinter in the world at the time) takeover target was brought for a mere $1250, and has now won over 5 million, he's won gr1 races in 4 different countries..........................

3) 2007 nakayama grand jump, a 10 yo named karasi, wins for the third year in a row, im not a big fan of jumps racing, but when a 10yo can win the richest jumps race in the world, for the third time, this gets my attention!

  1. Got to agree with another poster...Secretariat's Belmont.  I still get chills when I watch that and listen to the call...."Secretariat is moving like a tremendous machine!!!"  Absolutely awe inspiring.

Affirmed/Alydar in the triple crown series.

Personal Ensign in the breeder's cup....

and, while it certainly was not a best race, had it not had the tragic end that it did, the breeder's cup distaff in 1990?? with Bayakoa and Go For Wand....if that poor filly hadn't taken that bad step, what a race that was shaping up to be.  Awful to watch the footage, but up until that moment, what a clash of champions.

  2. horse race

  3. Did someone say Tiznow...Yup!...I said it!

Tiznow at the 2000 Breeders Cup Classic. He whipped Giant's Causeway, Fusaichi Pegasus, Albert the Great, Lemon Drop Kid and many others.

Then, as if it weren't enough, Tiznow wins again by a nose in 2001.

This time he whipped the L'Arc de Triomphe winner Sakhee, and top runner Aptitude, Gallileo and again Albert the Great.

    Enjoy!

  4. It doesn't get much better than Personal Ensign and Winning Colors in the 88 Breeders distaff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjBUOKiMQ...

And the battles between Affirmed and Alydar, and Sunday Silence and Easy Goer.

  5. Susan's Girl and Summer Guest - Delaware Handicap

    Duck Dance - Toboggan Handicap

Affirmed and Spectacular Bid - 1979 Jockey Club Gold Cup

Shuvee - Jockey Club Gold Cup (Twice)

Triple Dead Heat - 1944 - Brownie, Bossuet and Wait A Bit

Wild Again, Gate Dancer, & Slew O Gold - 1984 Breeders Cup Classic

  6. Affrimed and ALLYDAR . WAYA.The Grey ghost VIGORERS

I have seen way to many to answer you,,

    So many greats !

  7. It's older than dirt but I love watching Man O War blowing Sir Barton out of the water. Check it out on Youtube

  8. the matchup between Easy Goer and Sunday Silince in the 1989 Preakness was the best I'd ever seen.

  9. Well for sheer power, you can't get any better than Secretariat's 1973 1 1/2 mile Belmont Stakes. It wasn't really much of a race once Sham proved he couldn't go with Secretariat, but watching what Secretariat did was spectacular.

For good heart pounding races, the Affirmed v Alydar races in the 1978 Triple Crown were amazing:

    Kentucky Derby: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65v3xflpn...

    Preakness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2jwpdkf7...

    Belmont: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zmaqszf4...

the 1995 Breeders Cup Classic for "the uncomparable, invincible, unbeatable Cigar": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuaqzle-s... ... it was a great finish to a perfect season... he never lost that year.

The 1989 Breeders Cup Classic was called the "race of the decade" and put the Derby and Preakness winner Sunday Silence once again against Belmont winner Easy Goer and it turned out to be quite a race to the finish line: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbi9vkcr7...

I'm sure I could go on forever, but those will do for now ;o)
