Dude: there is no "best" snowboard.  I can name nearly a dozen companies that make excellent gear.  Find something that suits your style:  if you are a follower - pick Burton, that is what the masses do.  If you want a company with history, pick a ski company that makes boards (K2, Salomon, Elan, Atomic).  If none of the above then check out some of the following: Gnu, Lib Tech, Ride, Rome, Nitro, Sapient, Option, Forum, Prior.  You will be able to find a great board with any one of these brands...  now you just have to lean how to shred with it!

personally I'm sponsored by Roxy and I ride a Roxy board but Gnu is made by the same company (Mervin) and there boards are great especially with magna traction

How good are you...Burtons are only worth it for the high end stuff.  My vote goes to k2, or Burton.  Depending on your experience.
