Question:

The best tips on finding work?

I'm finding it very hard to find some work right now. Really I just need a job up until Christmas but obviously I don't tell them this.

I'm not even getting interviews, they say just hand in your cv and thats it. What can I do to make sure I get a job very soon? I live in the south of London area.

  1. try your local bailiffs. I'm sure they'll be doing a roaring trade in view of current finances. (that is if you would lower yourself to do such a job)

  2. It's a bad time in London on the work front in banking and media.  Try other avenues.  What would you like to do work wise, see if you can get work experience, impress the company and they may offer you a temp position.

Also there are a lot of jobs going in France at the moment if you're interested.

    Or try Gumtree

Remeber if you don't get the job is wasn't right for you in the first place

  3. Try agencies or practice being father Christmas, be here soon.

  4. Then clearly there is a problem with your CV.

The Job centres have people who will check your CV for you to see if it is likely to assist in getting jobs. Why not take it there and ask for advice. It is free.

  5. You need to follow it through, call the potential employers and check they have received the CV first and foremost, call them a few days later to see if there are any jobs available. In addition, i would suggest that you always enclose a covering letter with your CV

You can also register with several recruitment agencies who will sit down with you and discuss your requirmenets for the job you want
