  1. Legends in Tx.

  2. The Derby City Classic you have the best players in the world competing, and the action is truly a site to see.

  3. I played in an open 9-ball tournament at The Golden Eight Ball Billiards Pool Hall in Phoenix, eons ago. It wasn't a major tournament, though some of the best players in the state showed up to play, and there were no "slouches" in this tournament. I was one of two women who played in the tournament ---race to 5 format. They had a huge turnout, with well over 40 players signed up. Someone payed my entry fee (20.00) and signed me up. The prize money 70-30 for 1ST and 2ND Place (no 3RD place prize money). The owner threw in 200.00 to sweeten the pot. The final match is (was) always played in "The Pit" (The house Pro's table) with ample seating all around. I made it to the finals. I was the first woman to make it to "the pit" at The Golden Eight in a tournament ----though I've played thousands of games in the pit with DiLiberto and a several top-dogs. The pool hall was nuts that night! I never knew I had a fan club, until I moved on to that finals match ....HA! I beat my opponent 5-0. I'll never forget it as long as I live. I have no idea what the guy's name was that I beat. I didn't care at the time. I was 100% zoned in on my game --and I was 'amped'! I KNEW I was going to win that tournament. There was just NO way, I was going to lose the final match after fighting my way that far. I was excited, yet calm as a cucumber! I knew I was going to win, but I knew I had to play to do it. It was quite exhilirating!

WHAT? .....Did I misread the question? After I shared a great moment in my pool playing years?????

The best tournament I've BEEN to???? ...........

    Hmmmmmmm...........

.......I'll stick with my original answer ----though the Western States Ladies Tax-Time Tournament, was another GREAT tournament. I drew the Arizona State Champ for my first match ......I cleaned her clock. It was an 8 Ball  SE tournament. I lost to some gal from CA. on day 2 of the tour.

I've never attended a tournament that I wasn't playing in. We didn't have ESPN back then ---it was VERY new.

    OH, WAIT!

I watched Danny DiLiberto take on Nick Varner in a One Pocket Tournament. That was pretty exciting to watch. I was only 19 at the time.

I was much more a player than a spectator --unless I was resting, or watching a big money game.  Oh, the stories I could tell ........

    ......to be continued .....HA!
