I need a steady but light weight tripod, which one should I buy? I can only afford $200-$300.

Thanks.

  1. Actually all of the 190 series of Bogen-Manfrotto tripods will handle 5 kg (11 lbs) and many are much cheaper than the XProB..The 055 series handles more weight and isn't much more than the 190 series..Giottos Ball heads are the same or a bit lower price range as the Bogen ball heads..just decide what uses and weight handling you need for now and possibly will need in the future.then your choice is practically made for you..enjoy your camera...

  2. Go have a look at the Bogen 190XPROB. At certain places you can get a half decent head to go with those legs and get change out of $300. Nice and solid.

Specs and requirements of course depends on you but the above seems to be a popular choice.

You'll be pressed to find lightweight at that price level. Sturdy is the best you'll be able to do.
