I been working out for 7 weeks and Im pretty small so I do more weight and less reps but I haven't gained muscle in weight. I still weigh the same but I have gained muscle. I drink a protein shake after every workout. Do I have to gain weight in order to gain muscle weight?

  1. Hey

I know this website with some good muscle building articles from fitness trainers.  it's http://fitness4u.sitesled.com  THere is a insane muscle gain report on the right column you can download for free.  I actually bought the no nonsense muscle book that's on the bottom left column.  It really gave me all the info I needed to know to gain the muscle.  This guy is really motivational and knows his stuff.  It's got dvd's included too so you can see how to do the workouts.  He use to be skinny too.  Read his page.  It's alot cheaper then buying a personal trainer.

  2. Working out everyday will cause you to overtrain your muscles, so they won't grow maximally. Instead doing this everyday, try to use split training to train only one big muscle a day. You should do your workout 3-4 times a week and try to add extra calories as much as 500 calories a day, so yes you need to gain weight when you want to gain more muscles in weight.

  3. Are you weight training alot? Its possible that you arent giving yourself enough time in between your strength training workouts for your muscles to heal and strengthen. This could, in the long run, actually deteriorate your muscles more. Try taking a break for 2-3 days in between strength training workouts. In this gap of time, cardio is perfectly fine
