Flying would definitely be the fastest way to get to Alice, it's such a long, long way to drive.

It will take well and truly over 30 hours to drive to Alice Springs (that is only if you go all the way without taking breaks!).

Air will definitely be the most effective and quickest way of getting there. You will also be able to save on fuel by the way! Flying should take only a few hours.

qantas or virgin blue would be my option rather than car. It took my friends 35hours from sydney to alice springs by car not to mention petrol price nowadays, wow..
