I was wondering what the best way is to put a story together in combining the thoughts, connecting them with the plot and settings as well as communicating the situations about the characters and their lives?

Do I HAVE to add every single detail to everything in the story? I am talking about the way the enviroment looks in the story? The itsy bitsy details of the situations, history, character and plot?

I need help here. Help in putting this together where it won't cause concern.

  1. What every story needs is conflict, resolution and character development.

I think outlining your story will keep you on track.

You do NOT need to add every single detail and history into your story, BUT you should at least know it as far as your plot or characters are concerned.

In other words, we don't care if Sally was wearing a red silk evening dress, and Manolo stilettos, but if you plot her out as a fashion horse, you will give your readers a better sense of who she is.

There are many websites and blogs dedicated to the art of writing.  Do a search to find them.
