The best wingers in the world at the moment ( Part 2)
One of the most renowned position on the football pitch, is that of the winger. Most people generally assume that everyone wants’ to be a striker, however with the way the game of football has evolved over the past, the most prominent players on the pitch
are the wingers.
They are the players who inject the pace and skill into the game, that makes the difference to their team winning or losing the game. However despite that fact, there can only be a few wingers out there, who are easily better than the rest. Here is a look
at some of the best wingers in the world at the moment.
David Silva
The Spanish World Cup winner, David Silva is one of the most complete wingers in the world. The reason for this is, that the player can play in a number of positions apart from being isolated on the flanks. Silva can play in the midfield as a play maker,
or as a second striker and on occasions has been used as a make shift side back. All of this only adds to the players value and makes him even better then he already is.
Silva has in fact been so phenomenal over the past couple of seasons that prior to this season starting, he was part of a bidding war by numerous clubs, who were looking to capture the players services. The team that eventually manage to land the pacy winger
was the money spending, Manchester City. The fact that City had to go over the op to pursued a Valencia who were in desperate need of money, to land the player, just goes to show how valuable the player really is.
Silva has blistering speed, superb technique and some brilliant crossing ability. The player also has no difficulty in beating a man or to, on his way to scoring a goal. Apart from that Silva can be found setting up his team mates, with sitters to score
off, of. All in all Silva is one of the most complete wingers at the moment and with Manchester City slowly starting to get the best out of him, it is safe to say, there is plenty more to come from the mercurial Spanish winger.
Milos Krasic
The inclusion of Krasic in the list of the best wingers in the world, might come as a shock to most, however there is no denying the talent and ability that the twenty five year old has.
Last season Krasic along with his team mate, Keizuke Honda, lead a rather unknown team of CSKA Moscow all the way to the quater finals of the Champions League last season.
It was the players performances in the Champions League that saw him earn a move to the Italian side of Juventus.
So far the player has gone from being a rather unknown player to becoming an instant fan favourite at the club. IF he continues to keep his form up, it won’t be long before he becomes a legend at the Italian team.
Krasic has brilliant technique, and has some amazing ball dribbles coupled with blinding pace. He tends to get past two or three players with ease and tends use a variation of pace and skills to beat his man. Krasic is quite possibly one of the most underrated
wingers in the world at the current moment. However if he keeps his form up, it won’t be long before he gains the same super star status as that off the more renowned wingers out there.
