  1. The formual to obtain those numbers is easy.

As you know, if you have a point total of 21 then any card in the deck will best.

Assume you're playing with one deck.  If there are 52 cards left (which is impossible of course, since you must have some cards in your hand, but for the moment will ignore that) then 52 out of 52 cards will bust.  52/52 = 1... or certainty.

If you have a point total of 20 then the only cards in the deck that don't bust are the four aces.  So 48/52 cards WILL bust, which equals 92.3%.   For a hand with a point total of 19, 44/52, etc.

Alas, it's not as "simple" as that.  You can't just figure out the numbers and never take a hit if the odds are greater than 50% of busting.  There's more to blackjack than that.

  2. 52 devided by 4x8=%

  3. well you take into account the types of cards that are in the pool of cards your drawing from, remove the ones that your hand consists of, the calculate the percentage of cards that would result in a bust.

It gets more complicates for finding rates of bust for hands of certain totals, since there are multiple combinations that can make up a point total of 16.  For instance if your 16 consisted of 4 2s a3 and a 5  you would be mcuh more liekly to bust than a sixteen consisting of a six and a ten.

to find the rate of bust for a point total you need to do the process for each possible makup of the point value you are drawing from and average them together based on the rate of occurance of each type of point total makeup.
