  1. i didnt think it was scary and it was hard to watch all the shaking might make you sick but maybe you could go crazy waiting for it to get to the good part.....it never comes

  2. It wasnt that scary and it wasnt real either

  3. I think that the difference for people's experiences with the movie come right down to two things:  1) what kind of "horror" movie do you prefer - "Psycho" (original) or "Nightmare on Elm Street", and (2) where did you see it.

The movie is actually a really interesting bit of film.  If you need your "monsters" to be out in the open so you can say "hey there's the monster' then you wont like it.  If you can suspend disbelief and let yourself get into the movie, and the movie into your head, then you will like it.

If you watched it in the theater, it has a much greater impact.  In that environment, its easy to immerse yourself in the movie.  You have nothing to concentrate on but the images and sounds on the screen.  If you watch it at home on the small screen, it has far less impact.

So - if you can see it on the big screen, and lose yourself in it, and don't have to have every last question spelled out for you, then you can get into the film.  If you can't use  your imagination, and have to get the 'monster' presented to you, then you will not like it.

When I saw it, it was pretty powerful.  Couldn't look in the corners of my house without my imagination firing up for a long time.

But - to each his own.

The most interesting thing about the movie is how it was made.   There was no script.  The actors only had GPS units, handheld cameras, and vague instruction "be at point X by 3:00 -- Billy loses the map".  So it was mostly improvised.  The actors had no idea what was going to happen out in the woods.  So, most of the time when they are scared, angry, frightened, you are seeing the real emotion.

  4. "Someone told me that people committed suicide because it was so scary."

HAHAHAHA!!! You just made my day. Watch it yourself and see ... I doubt it'll drive you to suicide ...

  5. It's not that scary...It just seems really real because it's as if someone had videoed the whole thing with a basic cam-corder and it ends really abruptly...

I wouldn't kill myself over it but it did take me about 2 nights to sleep with the light off again

    hahaha

  6. It was probably because they were in a forest at night for part of it, and also, the shaky camera makes it look real (like a documentary).

  7. It was (is) a ficticious account of 3 college students doing a "documentery" on The Blair Witch, a ficticious witch in rural Maryland.

It is so scary because it is shot in video and 16mm film, and presents itself as being "lost footage" from these 3 kids getting lost in the woods and film their ordeal.

Now, I'm not saying it's the scariest movie I've ever seen, but I sure as h**l didn't go camping that summer.  If you choose to watch it, please watch the whole thing, b/c there are some points in the begining that make the payoff in the end more meaningful.

It really is a very well done movie, but part of it's popularity was the hype that went around it.  Please watch it.

    Boo!

  8. was a pretty average movie...

  9. well the reason its so scary is because it feels so real and they leave alot to the imagination which keeps you thinking about it for weeks and you'll get alot out of it if you listen to the interviews in the beggining then by the end you will have pee'd your pants. in my opinion its the scariest movie ever made scarier then the excorcist see it now!

  10. Who ever told you that is what we like to call "retarded".  Its not a scary movie, and the person who told you that is a complete moron for even saying that.

  11. Nothing. I saw it and it's just some kids making an amature movie. It's not real.

  12. you heard people committed suicide because it was so scary? Thats a straight up lie. It's about a group of people in the woods with a camera, they get lost....it's really kinda dumb.

  13. send me an email i'll give you the details my lead investigator grew up in the town it supposedly took place in

  14. The people who made this garbage should have been the ones to walk off a cliff...this was a hoax. Watch it for the thrill of it I guess, but don't buy into it.
