Can anyone give me the features or the spec of the blu-ray player on the PS3? How does it fare againts stand alone blu-ray players?

It is very comparable to stand alone players & the firmware can be updated via the internet - 1080p output, DTS & Dolby Digital sound.  Has HDMI out and Digital Optical out.  The latest firmware update gives it the ability to play Divix movies.  It even upscales regular DVD's.  For the exact specs visit Sony.com.

    Basically, you are getting a full featured Blu-ray player that does every thing (and more) a lower priced stand alone does and for $100.00 more than the lowest price stand alone, you are getting a PS3!

    Not sure what specs your really need. It is a blu-ray player so... You can get many different adapter cables to connect it to different tv's.
