The body clock has gone out of synch again. What to do ?

Greetings,

Because I get to travel east>west, or west>east on flights, my internal natural clock is in a muddle.

I have to go by mealtimes.

My bodily system may indicate that it is breakfast time, but they are serving dinner.

I was knackered at about 9pm last night, UK time, so went to bed.

Up at 4am this morning, which is useless.

They say that the natural clock re-adjusts after a while, but If I jump 8hours twice in local time, I am completely confused as to whether to order cornflakes or a bourbon.

Any solutions ?

Bob

  1. I think you just need to set your mind to it. Of course you feel tired the first day, maybe the second, but just cope with it. After all, I don't think there is a natural solution to this (no pills). All it takes is just the will of adjusting your bioclock to the local time.

  2. i live in ireland, and when i went to australian (wich is 12 hours ahead of us, i think) and since it is half way round the world from us, i was badly confused. (you know cuz our day time would be there night time)

but what i did, was that i took a day off from everything, stayed up the whole night and day, and when i went to bed at the same time as everyone else the next day, my body clock was synchrinized with the australian time, and it only took a day.
