Napoleon in the book animal farm is a leader, now so was Snowball and mr.jones, but there names rn't significant in history, y was napoleon called napoleon?

George Orwell most likely used the name Napoleon to convey the message about the leader who stood out the most with his strong speeches, propaganda, persuasiveness, and scare tactics.  It mirrored the real historical Napoleon on many levels.  Under Napoleon's leadership, the French Army was too scared to rebel or to turn against the leader.  Napoleon's brainwashing and scare tactics kept his men under his watchful eye.  Similar tactics by the pig, Napoleon too.
