The bottom gum of my cat has dark spots, why?

Yep that sweet girl is right they are freckles my red headed lol cat has bunches I tell him all the time he is my little freckle face he jest say MEOW.

I asked the vet about the marks on my cats gums recently and he said it meant my cat needed his teeth cleaned professionally.

some colors could naturally be in your cats skin. my dog has many black spots on his mouth and skin, but thats because that are the natural markings. if not, you need to have them removed im sure

The same reason they have spotted fur and skin.... it is just her markings.

idk what it means, but i think all animals have dark spots on their gums. i know my dogs have dark spots on their gums, too, and they go to the doggie dentist monthly. and they havent even said anything about it, so i think its like markings. you know how dogs and cats have different markings on their fur? maybe they have markings on their gums too! lol

My yellow tabby has a bunch all over his top and bottom lips and gums.. I was told they are freckles.

Cats develop darker gums over the years its normall unless you see it swollen or bloody. They dont brush their teeth so plague does build up. Dry food helps a little

Cats sometimes have markings inside their mouths just like you see on their fur. Mine has a long black strip about an inch long. The rest of his gums are pink. I did ask my vet about it and that's the answer he gave me. As long as there isn't puffiness, bleeding or signs of infection and is eating normally your cat is probably fine. If there ARE signs of trouble then a trip to the vet will best answer your concerns.

I'm not sure why it has black spots, but my dog has the same thing. I think it is normal though.
