I need to go somewhere in 45 minutes, and the pain is so strong it hurts when I walk! Should I rest my back or keep it moving to relax the muscles?

  1. Do you have a pain going down your leg too? That is sciatica.

If you have sciatic, rest it.

Did you pull a muscle? Rest that too.

If it's just tension than you should do back exercises

  2. ice it  and heat it, off and on and i would lay down to relax it, but makesure your in a comfy spot, because it can become painfull to be in the same spot for awhile.

  3. hot weter botie just not to hot

  4. It depends on how you injured yourself. If it's the small of the back (the lowest portion just about the butt), try leaning against a wall with your back to the wall and your knees slightly bent. Now try to push the small of your back to the wall so your back is straight against the wall all along the spine. Hold for a few seconds and then relax and repeat.

My physical therapist has me do this for lower back pain, and it works great, but you should figure out why you're in pain in the first place before taking any advise, so you don't hurt yourself more.

  5. ok ill try my best to explain it to you. lay down on ur back, put your knees into your chest and then twist knees towards left side (while laying down head is on the floor) for 30 seconds and then twist knees towards da right side for 30 seconds.. your back is still on the floor when your twisting.

another stretch you can do is sit on a chair lift your left ankle on your right knee. go down and with your arms massage your back a little (where it hurts) and then switch.. put your right ankle on your left knee and go down as much as you can.

when you sleep tonight sleep with a small pillow inbetween your knees. itll help your pelvic bone stay straight. which thats connected to your spinal cord and your back : )

    hope you understood GOODLUCK!

  6. If it is just one side going down your leg then the sciatica nerve is trapped.  Rest & ice packs are the best as heat makes the inflammation swell more.  Have you strained your back lifting if so you need to rest.  It may be a good idea to have a word with your GP, he will recommend the best treatment for your back.

    Good luck & best wishes.
