  1. have you ever seen a fountain in a park or a pond that looks slimy? Its algae, and ur geckos bowl probably has algae in it. Just be sure to clean more often than you are doing now.

    hope this helps

  2. clean it daily

  3. Yes it's normal. I wash my hands then use my fingers to physically remove this residue whilst rinsing it under a tap, this way i can feel for any 'slime' and be sure i'm removing all of it. If you rinse the bowl out daily this shouldn't be a problem to the gecko. A small build of this residue will do the gecko no harm.

  4. Yes, it's normal and is the reason the dishes need regular cleaning.  No, there's not a way to prevent it.  I even used RO water for a while, and even without the minerals it still happened.  It probably has a lot to do with just random junk floating into to.

  5. Nothing like a fresh glass of clean water, huh?

You need to do the same thing for your gecko and wash the dang water bowl already.

  6. It could just be from the minerals that are in your water, my water dishes have a little pinkish discoloration from the water.  As long as you are cleaning it daily like you said I wouldn't worry too much.

  7. You can get powder stuff to cleanse the water of algae and chlorine etc. I don't bother with that stuff, I just wash the water bowl out with a cloth every time I re-fill it.
