the boundary of the constellation Aquarius intersects the ecliptic at RA =23^h26^m. how long in years will it be before we enter the age of Aquarius? is it appropriate to refer to the present time as the dawning of the age of Aquarius?justify your answer.

  1. this sounds familiar. somebody asked this yesterday. it is no more meaningful now than it was then. astrology is meaningless, and you can make up any answer you like.


  2. The Age of Aquarius would begin when it reaches 24 hrs. (0 hrs.)  It still has 34 minutes to go.  There are 1440 minutes in the whole 24 hour cycle.  34 min. would be 0.0236 of the whole circuit.  Precession takes 25,765 years to complete, so .0236 x 25,765 = 608.  It will take 608 years to reach 0 hrs, or the vernal equinox.

    608 years is pretty far away, so this isn't even close to the Age of Aquarius.  This is a purely astronomical reckoning, though.  Astrology uses different positions for the "signs."  It still isn't the Age of Aquarius yet, by any of those systems, and won't be for centuries.
