The brightest shining stars for the Sunshine Millions Stakes on 28thJanuary at Gulfstream Park revealed
The Florida Sunshine Millions Stakes will be held at the Gulfstream Park on 28thJanuary. The top of the line horses that will participate for the six races that the Stakes comprise of have been announced. The total prize money that for the
six-race meet goes to $ 1.3 million, with the richest race being the one that is held in the end, the $400,000 Sunshine Millions Classic.
The ever green performers who are being expected to win include the unbeaten, Awesome Feather. Musical Romance, the champion female sprinter will also be contesting and will be accompanied by Mucho Macho Man, whose performance will be one of the most
anxiously awaited one, as he has not raced since 9 November, 2011.
The four-year-old colt of Carole A. Rio out of John D. Rio, Mucho Macho Man is expected to encounter Duke of Mischief, Turbo Compressor and Adios Charlie.
Racing in the $150,000 Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Sprint over a distance of six furlongs, is the Eclipse Award winner for the category of filly or mare sprinter, Musical Romance. The fierce rival, who is capable of distorting all the chances of
the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint winning filly, is Pica Slew.
Apriority trained by David Fawkes will try posting his first success after winning the Grade 3 Mr. Prospector on 31st December 2011, by participating in the Sunshine Millions Sprint.
A promising contender for the $150,000 Sunshine Millions Turf that is to be raced over 1 1/8 miles, is Little Mike, son of Spanish Steps, who has been successful in bestowing his trainer, Dale Romans, with three graded victories during the last season.
Awesome Feather who has a record of nine-for-nine, and has also won the Eclipse Award for juvenile fillies in the year 2010, will for sure be a hard one to beat in the $300,000 Sunshine Millions Distaff.
There can hardly be a more thorough lineup for a race which includes Eclipse winners and those ,who have till yet not missed a race in their career.
