The bucks traded for Richard Jefferson a moth or two ago and I was looking at his stats and I knew I had seen something similar. So I compared his to Michael Redd's from last season and found this.

Points:

Jefferson - 22.6 ppg

Redd- 22.7 ppg

Rebounds-

Jefferson - 4.3

Redd 4.2

Assist -

Jeff - 3.2

Redd- 3.4

Steal

Jeff - .9

Redd - .9

Blocks -

Jeff - .2

Redd - .2

Fg%

Jeff - .462

Redd - .453

Freethrow -

Jeff - .798

Redd - .820

3 point -

Jeff - .362

Redd - .362

This resemblance was just plain weird to me. What do you think. I think the bucks traded for a clone of Michael Redd. This gives the bucks two players on the cusp of all star talent.

  1. still be hardpressed to make 8th seed.

  2. thats hard to believe lol

  3. you finally found out our master plan, my dad works for the bucks and he said that they wanted to get someone with realistic stats to redd so that they could have crazy promotions like "twin day" and stuff because they have similar stats and they are desperate to get people to the arena anyway... but thats just what he told me

  4. Its a great trade. Redd and Jefferson should work great together. Look out for the Bucks this year!

  5. It can't hurt to have two players of that caliber, if their egos don't get in the way and they get more or less equal playing time.

To notice the similarities, you either have a great memory or you are engaged in a fantasy league. Maybe both??

  6. hhahhaa...yah those numbers are really close to each other

  7. Good observation. Yes I think I agree with you in some extent. It's weird in some sense, but that shouldn't be a case since they were go-to-guys when they played for New Jersey and Milwaukee respectively. RJ actually was the man carrying the offensively load of New Jersey before Kidd got traded so the averages were expected of him. Same thing with Redd before he went out with his injury.

There might have been resemblances but then again the two played for two different teams before they got traded. There should be a difference NOW that they are together than they did when they were SEPARATED. It really depends on how Coach Scott Skiles (still my pick as coach for Chicago tsk, tsk very unfortunate turn of events though) on how he utilizes both, but in reality with Skiles in tow I still see both players getting the same numbers because Skiles loves utilizing a smaller unit on the floor and be faster on the opponent.

    Hope this helps.

  8. Interesting. I never knew that but good to know. Bucks still got a lot more ways to go before they are contenders again.

  9. Wow- Mr. Basketball,

That is some serious research!!!  It most certainly does not hurt to have two 20 point scorers.  Off course Redd stretches the defense out in a different way than R.J. but the two are a great duo to build around- and the Bucks could be fighting for a playoff spot in the East.

They should seriously have some twin promotions-- that'd be funny...

    Nickster

  10. The main difference is that Redd takes more threes and more shots overall than Jefferson.  But aside from that they are "statistically" twins...and not maturnally.  : P

  11. That's funny. Can you please give me 10 points? Please?
