The calamity with the Ultimate Underdog, Rey Mysterio in WWE History
There are number of wrestlers in the history of WWE who suffered from great calamities during their ride in the WWE. The Ultimate Underdog, Rey Mysterio was also victimised of the most shocking moment of his life when he won and lost the WWE Championship
in the same segment.
Rey Mysterio was crowned as a new WWE Champion during Monday Night Raw on July 25, 2011 when the Master of 619 defeated the second contestant and former WWE Champion, the Miz in the final of the WWE Championship tournament.
In the month of July, the WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon introduced a new WWE Championship belt and conducted the tournament for that belt. The old belt was conquered by the former WWE superstar, CM Punk who left WWE on July 17 and did not return the title
back. The Second City Saviour, Punk participated in the WWE’s pay-per-view event “Money in the Bank” on July 17 where he fought with the WWE Champion of that time, John Cena in a WWE Championship match. The Second City Saviour, Punk won the title and left
WWE. The chairman offered new WWE contract but Punk refused that contract.
One day after Money in the Bank on July 18, Mr. McMahon introduced a new WWE belt and conducted a tournament between eight WWE superstars including Rey Mysterio, the Miz, Alex Riley, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Jack Swagger, Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler.
The Miz, Mysterio, Kofi and R-Truth won their fights in the table of 8. In next round, the Miz dropped Kofi after a pin-fall victory while Mysterio defeated R-Truth after hitting the 619. Miz and Mysterio advanced for the Championship match this week. Unfortunately,
the WWE Chairman was also released of his duty by the new WWE COO, Triple H during the same Raw segment.
The July 25 edition of Monday Night Raw segment started with the WWE Championship match between Mysterio and the Miz at Hampton, Virginia. All of the Raw Roster watched the Championship fight backstage. The Ultimate Underdog came out first in the ring with
a huge pop by the WWE Universe. Afterwards, Miz came out in a mixed reaction by the crowd.
After Approximately 12 min, Mysterio took the comical Championship victory over the Miz after hitting a 619 and upper rope Splash for a three count. A number of Raw superstars celebrated Mysterio’s victory. After the fight, Miz dropped him on the mat from
behind. Mr. Money in the Bank, Alberto Del Rio ran in for cashing his Money in the Bank contract but Mysterio stood up and had put him down without cashing his title shot. The Ultimate Underdog became the new WWE Champion in the Raw roster. It was his first
Championship victory after being drafting to Monday Night Raw.
But the most shocking moment of the Raw segment was that the Ultimate Underdog could defend it for only two hours. The new COO of WWE, Triple H once again put him into a WWE Championship fight against John Cena. Unluckily, the Master of 619 could not defend
his title and lost it to Cena after just two hours. Such type of tragedies used to occur during the career of WWE superstars. The Ultimate Underdog was also victimised in the most shocking moments in the history of WWE.
