The camera won't shut off and i can't get it to...

Question

I was taking pictures with the camera on sunday when all the sudden the screen went black. I tried shutting it off to see if that was the problem but it wouldn't shut off. I hit the review button and it wouldn't show anything. Now the battery has run down and I am trying to charge it. Not sure what the problem is.
