  1. Meet her at the DMV and fill out the form.  It costs less than $20 to transfer title and you are risking everything for her.

  2. Currently, you are responsible.  Like the guy above said, get her to the DMV quickly.  If that isn't an option,  go to the DMV yourself.  They should have an option for an incomplete title transfer, which allows you to get it out of your name at least.

  3. If she hurts someone [hopefully it wont happen] i don't think why you should be responsible for it, your not driving, she is.

And if she don't have the money to even get a tittle transfer, my best guess is that your paying for insurance, which if something happens the insurance company wont cover if shes not an authorized driver in the policy. And your question leads me to think that 1: shes not a good driver at all 2: inexperienced driver.

On any case, tell her to save you some possible headaches and keep the car till she can get her stuff straight.

  4. If she can't even afford the money to transfer the title how in the world can see even put gas in the car? If you already have fill out the transfer of title and both sign that the car was sold to her and turn that in to the DMV you are off the hook even if she hasn't apply for a title change herself. It just worries me though if she can't even afford to pay for the transfer she is not responsible enough to be driving a car. I would get her to change the title in her name asap. Just put the amount sold sometime very low so she can afford to register it the first time in her name. When the registration renewals comes the DMV with automatically charge blue blue value.

  5. Yes, you are responsible because the car is still legally yours.  Letting her drive YOUR car may cause you much grief.  Get it transferred ASAP. spell check

  6. In this state (Washington) when you sell a car you can either go online and report the sale or go into a licensing service and report it.  We also can send in a paper that is attached at the bottom of the title BUT the state does not guarantee it will go thru.  But once you report the sale or gift your free and clear of responsibility.  If your don't report it and she has an accident you so screwed..
