  5. He is a dynamic character because he goes through so many different emotions and internal conflicts throughout the story. At first he is more rough around the edges, more sarcastic and smart-***, if you will, and by the end he has a great big realization about a lot of things that he has thought about and he becomes emotionally changed by these events.

    This is a great book, and Holden Caulfield will forever be my most beloved literary character of all time.
