Question:

The cement for my braces fell off!!!?

I'm on vacation all the way across the country and for some reason, last night I was biting down real hard and woke up with a piece of my cement that block me from biting on my braces fell off...I'm not going back home for a couple of days...What should I do?

  1. I think the cement is there to keep your braces in place. It is not so you won't bite them.  This happens from time to time.  Just be very carefull.  Do not chew on that side of your mouth.  If you have some wax you can put it in that spot to keep everthing toghether.  If  a piece of braces comes off just keep it and call the doctor for an appoinment when you get home.  A couple of days will not hurt your teeth or mess up any of the work your braces has done already.


  2. It's not that big of a deal, they can just put on a new bracket when you get back home... just make sure that there are no sharp edges that could cut your lip etc.

    If the wire is really loose you may want to check out local orthodontists.
