it's usually the cheapest to get to London and than use Ryanair from Stanstead.  I think starting June 15th the peak time starts so you're probably better off flying out on the 14th the latest.  Also, ryanair sometimes offers free flights where you have to pay only taxes of $20-$30 or so.  The only problem with this type of itinerary is the luggage...flights within Europe limit the lugage to some pitiful weight.

It's true, there are no cheap flights.  But try doing a web search for 'flüge billig buchen' (booking cheap flights) and you can find some German sites that may help you.  I have found much cheaper flights from some of those sites myself, but the cost depends of course on your departure and destination cities.
