  1. You can fly from Birmingham to Cork for just £1 each way with Aerlingus.  Alternatively, if you still want to travel by car, you can find peopleto share the cost of the ferry/fuel on http://www.rideforcents.org .

  2. The answer is Holyhead-Dublin by far. The cheaper sea route is Fishguard/Pembroke-Rosslaire by about £10; however it is a far longer drive from Birmingham. Additionally, you can fill up with cheaper Irish fuel sooner when you reach Dublin!

    Irish Ferries (Holyhead-Dublin port)

£178  GBP return; car and one adult

    Stena line (Holyhead-Dublin)

£197.59 return; car and one adult [checked this on:

    Kilometres/Mileage:

    Birmingham-Holyhead = 245k/152 miles

    Dublin-Cork = 260k/152 miles

    Birmingham-Fishguard = 358k/222 miles

    Birmingham-Pembroke = 339k/211 miles

    Rosslaire-Cork = 197k/122 miles

    Have a safe trip,

    Peter

  3. Amend Travel Details

Then you can just drive to Cork which will take 3-4 hours

  4. If you want to bring you own car I suggest you check for the nearest ferry port in the UK that's connected to Rosslare or Cork. www.stenaline.ie and www.irishferries.ie are the main companies.

From Rosslare is then about 2 1/2 hours drive to Cork City.
