The check engine light is on in my 2003 dodge neon and not sure what is wrong?

Take it to Autozone and let them use a code reader on it they'll do it for free.

you wont know whats causing it until you take it and have someone with a scanner scan the computer and find out what code it gives,there's no way to guess at something like this there's only about 30 things that will make the light come on,it could be something as simple as a loose gas cap causing this too happen,take it by auto zone and have them scan  the computer its free,then you,ll know,good luck.

Well first of all for the certified mechanic way more then a 30 things the computer is controlling. For the light issue, take it to Advance Auto Parts and will will tell you what the code means and do what ever it takes to getting you back on the road and keeping your wheels turning.
