The child of a dumb mother OR the mother of a dumb child. Which would you prefer as a leader?

can the dumb mother be helped intellectually.. probably not at this point

can the dumb child be helped...  probably so

all things considered... the child of the dumb mother has the greatest potential, the least responsibility, and more life to live...that's my preference in this situation. Hopefully, there is someone else around to help the child. (IE: extended family, school, counselors, whatever.) Because regardless of a person's potential, being raised in a vacuum sucks.

an afterthought... dumb as in unintelligent or dumb as in unable to speak?

The mother of a dumb child. The child may have inherited it's dumb gene from the father. At least we can hope that is the case.

I would prefer the mother of a dumb child. The mother would be able to educate the dumb child, therefore making him/her more intelligent.
