  1. 25-14,45

    =10,55

  2. circumference = 2πr

    using π=3.14

    r = C/(2π)

    r of ball = 14.45/(2π) = 2.3 cm

    diameter = 2r = 4.6 cm

    r of cup = 25/(2π) = 3.98 cm

    diameter = 2r = 7.96 cm

    Difference in diameter = 7.96 cm - 4.60 cm = 3.36 cm

  3. C=dpi

    Ball:

    14.45 = dpi

    so d = 14.45/pi

    Cup:

    25 = dpi

    so d =25/pi

    Difference:

    25/pi -14.45/pi

    =  (25-14.45)/pi

    = 3.358 cm

  4. circumference is just diameter times pi.

    Ball: d(pi) = 14.45

    d = 14.45/pi

    Cup: d(pi) = 25

    d = 25/pi

    Difference = 25/pi - 14.45/pi = 10.55/pi

    10.55/pi, or approximately 3.358 cm.

  5. Circumference = Pi times the diameter; C = πd

    If you're given C, and want d, then divide both sides by π and you get d=C/π.

    The ball with circumference of 14.42cm has a diameter of 14.42/π or 4.60cm.

    The cup with circumference of 25cm has a diameter of 25/π or 7.96cm.
