The clash of Binocular and Peddlers in Aintree Hurdle – Horse Racing Update
The Aintree meeting is the racing event that is the centre of attention and discussion of the fans and those involved in the business of horse-racing, including the trainers and sports analysts are anticipating the event with great enthusiasm. The reason
behind this excitement is more than the Grand National meeting being one of the most prestigious racing events of the country. People are looking forward to the Aintree meeting because some of the very best and champion race-horses will be participating in
event.
The two champion colts Binocular and Peddlers Cross will be featuring together in the mega event, as they both have been saddled for the John Smith’s Aintree Hurdle that will be taking place at the Aintree racecourse as a part of the Grand National meeting.
The two race-horses have been each other’s rivals and now will face each other again in this event.
Binocular was previously withdrawn from the Champion Hurdle and so he could not defend his crown in this particular event. The reason for this withdrawal has been revealed to be the fear of his handlers that the race-horse would test positive for a banned
medical substance and thus was kept from being saddled for the event. On the other hand, his rival Peddlers Cross was the second place finisher of the Champion Hurdle. Now at the Aintree Hurdle these two champions will be competing against each other.
The sports analysts are of the view that the field that will feature the aforementioned colts can be called an “all-star” field. Other prominent contenders of the race that will be run over a distance of 2 miles and 4 furlongs or Grade 1 includes the stable-mate
of Peddlers Cross, Overturn, the third place finisher of the Champion Hurdle, Oscar Whisky and the trainee of Paul Nicholls Celestial Halo.
Among the 13 prominent entries, the name of Sparky May is also included. The colt trains under the care of the famed trainer Pat Rodford. On the other hand, the most prominent of the entries that have been scratched out is that of the Coral Welsh National
champions Synchronised and Notre Pere.
