The condensate pump on my A/C is very loud when it runs.

Question

It's never really been an issue as it's in the basement but now that I have set my up theater down there it's annoying. When it runs it's loud enough that I can no longer hear what's on TV until it's finished. Is it supposed to be that loud? Is there a way to make it quieter?

the condesate pumps need to be cleaned out every year try this first if still too much noise replace.

It may be getting old, mine was quiet when it was new, but is kinda loud, now.  It's about 7 years old.
