The connector on the JBL

The connector on the JBL ipod doc has broken off, it's only 14 mths old is this a manufacturing fault? the connector is only held to the pcb board via small soldered connections this will not allow any movement before severing its contact to the pcb this must be a design error. Is there any way it can be fixed it cost over £200.Regards Tony
