What i really need to know is, The last time i had a coil fitted almost 1 and half year ago i did not feel it has i was put to sleep while they fitted it in me, But this time they say i will be awake. Will it hurt? I know it did kind of hurt having it taken out the first time.

  2. Years ago when I had one put in my GP did it in his surgery and it didn't hurt at all and I was fully awake. Hopefully you will have no problems and be fine.

    Everything should be ok.

  3. Hey there hun,

You will feel some discomfort, but i can tell you that it isn't painful, and it won't make you want to scream or something!

It won't be painful afterwards either, you will just feel some slight discomfort. The vaginal wall is very flexible and soft, and doesn't have many pain receptors, so you will be fine.

Also, it's over and done with very quickly!

    No worries :)

    Congratulations on the new baby

  4. I found it painful but that was because I hadn't had children and I should have taken some painkillers first so it should be easier for you - I'd just recommend taking something for pain such as paracetamol or ibuprofen if you are able to an hour before the insertion!  All the best.
