    is not the correct spelling for the word pancake!

    The correct spelling is "Pannenkoeken".

    you probably got it mixed up with the german language.

    And yes it i served on a large platter, it usually is about the size of a medium pizza.

  3. I believe that US pancakes are bready and fluffier than pfannekuchen.  Pfannekuchen is not as fluffy and seems crepe like, but thicker.

    In the US, the pancakes can be as large as a plate 8 to 10 inches (20 to 25 cm) in diameter and often served with butter and maple syrup.

    Also, I thought pfannekuchen was a German word?
