Pls advise the international standard of washing 100% cotton jersey clothes. It's better to wash them by hands or by machine? To hang them in the air until it is dry naturally, or to put them in the dryer machine? What is the difference of the clothes to dry in the air and to dry in the machine?

  1. 100 % cotton jersey - depends if you want it to shrink in on first wash - after that it should hold its shape fairly well. If you want it to shrink initially then wash in hot water on a separate wash on a normal cycle including a spin cycle. Hang either on hangers or spread to dry or carefully peg draping over line.

To keep its shape better do the same but with cold water, you may still experience some shrinking as all pure cotton does do this. If you choose to tumble dry then this will also probably shrink it

  2. Check the labels for manufacturer advice.

Personally, I machine wash - short cycle, not hot.

I dry in the air - on hangers. This makes for less creasing and a lower electric bill.

  3. Hand wash with detergent (use something gentle like Easy Wash)

    Line dry in the sun.

If you dry clothing in the air as opposed to a dryer, your clothing will wear out less quickly, won't shrink, and won't get little fabric balls stuck to it.

  4. Hand wash it in non-biological washing powder like Persil or Ariel. RInse with a little fabric softener and spin out on a very small spin for a minute or less. Then hang it out to dry, or better still hang it in the house and it will leave the smell of the fabric conditioner in it for a while.

    Good Luck
