Hi I have ceramic tile in my kitchen that is cracked and broken and I would like to replace the whole floor with just regular linoleum. The size of my kitchen is 12x14. I would like to know about how much to expect to pay a handyman to come in and do this for me.

  1. On an average you can expect to pay approx. $5.00-$6.00 s/f. x 168 s.f.( 12'x 14')= $840-$1008 which breaks down as follows:

    Ceramic tile and base tear out...........$1.20/sf

    New 1/4" underlayment installed..$2.00/sf

    Vinyl sheet flooring(material)....$1.33/sf

    Glue for vinyl sheet........$0.10/sf

    Labor to install sheet flooring.....$1.00/sf

    ===============================

    subtotal :.....$5.63/sf

    x 168 s/f= $945.84  + Shoe molding @perimeter of kitchen to finish off vinyl at $1.45/lf furnish and installed= $75.40 for a total of $1021.40.  This is an AVERAGE!!!!  This does not include the debris disposal nor moving of stove, kitchen table, etc.  A handyman's work should be on par with a professional flooring installer's so his pay should be on par too!  Hope this helps!
