  1. Transportation to New South Wales for life...

Try searching cost of living.  From Writers Dreamtools History by Decades - Bread was 5c in 1900.

  2. my guess is 2 cent, there have been bakeries for centuries, the trade was brought over from europe with the frist imergrents who landed on our shores. i am a retired pro baker, and the joke is a baker is the 2nd oldest profession, we all know what the oldest is hookers! back in the olden days people had fires and stoves ,but not oven. lots of time only one person in a village had a oven and it was out side, the others would make their own dough up and take it to the baker in the village. that still happens to this day in certain parts of the world, even as close as some of the caribean islands. to equate time in 1948 when i was 6 years old ,my parents would send me to the local market and bread was 7cent, now its what $2s and up . every thing goes up, just wages don't keep up, says bacondebaker

  3. If you find out i would like to know.  Probably a penny.
