The cost of living??

does anyone else live by a Somerfield (UK)

the prices are absolutely awful! it's about £1.50 for a decent loaf of bread and because we get through a lot of milk, i think we're spending at least £10 a week on milk alone!

how do you cope? we often get asda or tesco deliveries.

  1. Invest in a breadmaker, you can probably get one on ebay for next to nothing, and you get lovely fresh bread every day! the milk situation probably cant be helped, but you could buy long life boxed milk and mix it with the fresh, it goes further and I bet no-one would notice!

  2. i feel the same.

my kids drink a lot f milk and juice, and love their yogurts.

the cost of food has gone up dramatically, e.g: 400g of minced meat in asda was £1.49 now its £1.79 .

Siansburys shopping is really bad as you have to pay way extra for the same items you buy from asda.

i don't really agree with long life milk especially when there's kids involved .

  3. Yes i know what you mean....cost of living is creeping up and up.

We get through milk like nobodies business and funnily enough used to have a milkman until we didn't get a bill for yonks. I rang them up after about 3 months and they said we owed them £90!!!! Just for milk....needless to say we don't have a milkman anymore...if i had a huge garden i'd get a cow!!!

I guess you cope and get on with it as you have to and with politics the way it is these days, the people don't appear to get a choice in the matter and what with the price of petrol as well......!!

Becoming a vegan could be cheaper option...mind you i have a 3 year old who needs the full fat in everything it's like you have to buy everything twice!!! Enough moaning from me and just keep working!! lol x*x

  4. Everywhere in Europe and every day the cost of living is increasing.

So we are every day more and more poverty-stricken.

    What will be the outcome?

  5. Thats Crazy £10 a week on Milk?! Is that an exaggeration  or do u just drink alot of milk? Tesco is really cheap for every day groceries, around  ÃƒÂ‚£0.80 for 2 pints if milk... and they always have good offers... try buying bread with offers eg Buy one get one free and freeze the one you are not using...
