  1. The bus station is only a couple of miles from the airport, probably less than 2 miles, but I'm pretty sure there is a $15 minimum that began a couple years ago.

On the website cited below that talks about transportation around Sky Harbor I found this information (which appears to have been current last year, 2006, so the fares might have gone up, especially considering how much fuel costs have risen in the past year!):

"Several taxi companies have been contracted to provide Sky Harbor transportation services to travelers for the following rates: $5 for the first mile+ $1 airport charge+ $2 each additional mile with a $15 minimum fare and a $20/ per hour of any traffic delay fee."

Note that there is that $15 minimum fare that resulted from taxi drivers refusing to take short fares a while ago.  A limo would probably actually be your least expensive option, but they must be reserved in advance.  You can't flag one down like a cab.  (I used to HATE trying to take a cab at Sky Harbor because the drivers would practically grab your arm and your suitcase and shove you into their cab to get your business!!!)

We always used to use the Airport Shuttle (blue vans) from Scottsdale to the airport, which charged a flat $20 per person, not including tip, for pretty much any distance.
