If by here, you mean the US, and for a temporary visit, then see the following site for complete non-immigrant visa information.  An invitation letter is not required, but if you wish to supply one, it should include your name and contact information, the extent of your relationship to the visa applicant, and your willingness to assume all costs associated with the applicant's trip to the US.

Curious1 is correct of course, but I would add that since no invitation letter is required, sending one in doesn't normally impact on a decision to issue a tourist visa one way or the other.
