Question:

The cutest cat out there?

Look, my girlfriend and I haven't been doing well. She's mad. And it's my fault. I'm not going to go into details, but she loves cats. Her birthday is around a week, and she always wanted a cat. So, I want to surprise her and say I'm sorry, wish her a happy birthday by giving her a kitten, and play her a song at her party with my guitar. I have the song in mind, but not the cat.

So, to all of you cat lovers, what is the cutest breed to get? Don't care about cost. I have $2000 saved up. So, what's the cutest cat to get?

  1. Go to a shelter and check out the kittens they have, you'll find one, also make sure you get the litter box, litter, you know all the things that she'll need.  ( you can't get the cutest cat, I have him)

  2. Pets as a surprise gift is ALWAYS a bad idea.  If you are going to do this, you need to be fully prepared to keep the cat yourself if she is unable or unwilling to do so.  Pet dumping -- by the side of the road, at a shelter or humane society or wherever -- would be unconscionable under these circumstances.

If you're OK with the responsibility, get a rescue kitten.  They are as cute as any purebred, and you will save a life.

  3. Don't buy her a kitten...

Tell her that you have a surprise for her and take her to a pet store or a humane society and tell her to pick out whatever she wants.

I'm sure that would make her happier.  You don't want to buy her something that costs that much just because its cute... it could be a total *** and she might not like it!

  4. What would please her more is if she were to choose the kitten herself. Bring her to a shelter and I'm sure she will fall in love with one particular one that she will definitely want to bring home! Plus, she would be saving a life!

  5. i agree, you don't have to buy a kitten, there will be plenty of adorable ones at your local shelter.

    good luck

  6. Adopt a stray kitten from an animal shelter or a cat-rescue. You can even see/view them online beforehand at Petfinder.com. and you'll be saving a life!!  (and money!!)

  7. a siamese -- they have a beautiful color and gorgeous blue eyes.

  8. First off, how old is your girlfriend?  If she's a teenager and still living at home then you need to ask her parents first.  Then if her parents say it's OK to get her a cat or kitten then have them take her to shelter and adopt one.

There's cats of every breed and cats of no particular breed at shelters.  And for about $100 she'll get a cat or kitten that's up to date on shots, deflead, dewormed, tested for disease, spayed or neutered and microchipped.  Since you want to spend away your money donate $500 in her name to the shelter and give her a hundred dollars for toys, litter box, etc.  $700 spent and you still have $1,300 left to keep in your savings account.

But FYI - if you did something to p**s her off you're not going to buy her forgiveness.

  9. Bengals! They look like little jungle cats with all their beautiful spots. They also do cute things, mine plays fetch with paper balls and takes showers with me!

  10. Do not buy a kitten!!    Go to the local human society or a rescue group they will have a lot of very cute kittens!
