The dashing, dodging Red Bull of Monaco-Mark Webber

He dodged, he dashed, he dumped them away and he drove like a devil. Australian Formula 1 driver, Mark Webber took the lead at the Monaco Grand Prix on this Sunday at Monte Carlo, standing tall for the first position. Hence, the proud man bagged his second victory in a week. Mark Webber expressed his Monaco Grand Prix win as among the biggest days of his life, winning from the pole position in Monte Carlo.

The Red Bull driver beat his team mate Sebastian Vettel who ended his run on second place, making the duo share the podium for the first time. Webber made his day by shrugging off four safety car periods and was never preceded in the race. With Webber's back to back wins, he is ahead on the count once again. The front row beginner Robert Kubica of Renault ended in the third position.

As the lights went red, the Red Bulls stirred into formation of the starting line as Vettel instantly accelerated past Kubica into second place. However, Vettel’s chance of beating team-mate Mark Webber for the first place was short lived as Webber started to slice out the fastest laps of the Grand Prix this season. He set up a 10 second lead after going to the pits on 22nd and the 23rd lap.

Despite the interruption in the race by not les than four safety car periods - the last of them layering the final three laps of the race - Webber was always in a state to rebuild his lead and move ahead from Vettel, who was eclipsed by Kubica all afternoon.

"Absolutely incredible and for sure one of the greatest days of my life today," exclaimed Webber. "To win here was very special, it started yesterday with qualifying when it went well but here it is such a test for two hours.”

The happy man told that he had worked real hard, as the track is tough and had changed a lot. The additional backmarkers and safety cars heightened the competition. The race was restarted four times due to various accidents on the track. He added that all the basics that he could have tested were amicably conducted in this race. He expressed his excitement in joining Ayrton Senna as a winner in Monaco, which just felt great.

Webber was lucky to escape narrowly when Jarno Trulli and Karun Chandhok smashed each others cars right ahead of him, with three laps yet to go.

"Ciaron (Engineer) was on the radio saying you have Jarno and Chandhok in front," told Webber. "I was nursing the car and with backmarkers you can lose a lot of time.

The result pronounces Webber and Vettel into a joint championship lead - a place the Australian expressed Red Bull surely deserves.

Mark Webber has groomed himself into a world championship contender. His form has seen him shine as the man of the moment. That was the opinion of his former team boss Frank Williams, who agrees that the Australian's back-to-back pole positions in Spain and Monaco demonstrates that he now has the speed and confidence to win the battle.

Williams excitedly proclaimed that Mark has actually risen far above the tally and that was evident. The team added that Mark is in the form of his life along with fellow driver Vettel. He added with a smile that the entire situation is pretty even-Stevens in fact.

Williams thinks that Weber’s ever improving ability to deal with pressure has been the key to bring him this far.

He recalled that around two or three years ago, he would have said that Mark takes too much pressure. However, the former boss claimed that he doesn't see any indication of that at the moment after viewing the Red Bull driver from the outside. He added that Webber is a mentally cool and calm customer as he seems to be outside.

Although the Williams team may be angrily kicking itself for letting Webber slide away its grasp, the owner said he was overjoyed about the run of form that the winner exhibited in Monaco.

Webber concluded the joyous day telling the media that he is determined to continue the hard work. He further said that they (Red Bulls) did not win because the Bulls have been sluggish in their approach. Rather, it was the effort of his team and himself that had made the win possible. Explaining the reason for the win, Webber claimed that the team had continued with the same pace for the last two and a half years. He expressed satisfaction that the win was fantastic for the continuity in the team.

Webber said, "We are optimistic for the future and we got the maximum we could do today, and we need to make that happen as often as possible."
