The debate of who is the greatest Quarter-Back in NFL History (Part 2)
Contd....
It seems quite difficult to determine who the best is in a sport where teamwork always creates the winning positions. It is relatively easier though to find out who the best quarter-back is in NFL history as the number is easier to see and the efforts can
be noticed more easily.
We can place the facts in front of us and then see who really is the greatest.
If we take a look at those people in history who were magnificent passers, we can include Dan, who finished his career when he was 40 and by then he had 430 passes that lead to touchdowns. At that time, the closest someone came to him was Fran, who left
the game with 342 passes.
But Brett, after completing his 19 seasons, stands higher than any other NFL player at the moment. He has achieved 497 passes that have lead to touchdowns.
If we truly want to see the level of brilliance Brett has, we can simply find out how many game plays he has completed and how many points he has to his personal record. No one else is higher than Brett.
Peyton is number three in the number of touchdowns executed. As Brett has an astonishing number of 370 touchdowns, Peyton is 127 touchdowns away from him. The difference tells the story itself.
The only way Peyton can reach the feat is if he averages around 25 touchdowns per game for the next five seasons, he may come close to the great Favre. And we all know that cannot happen.
The only NFL man to have had a season of 3000 or more yards, more than 35 touchdowns and the highest number of victories in one season is Favre. He is at the verge of surpassing more records also.
Every big record for all sorts of passing is to his name and no one is close to climbing that mountain which he has climbed. Brett is also on the verge of finishing his twenty years with NFL, always starting from the first minute. In all these years, the
most amazing season as a professional NFL player he has ever had was recently when he turned forty years old. That is pure endurance as he is still in his prime.
No one has ever had a season like that once they surpassed the age he did it at. The fact that he has played all these years practically without missing a game and barely ever getting hurt, makes people wonder in shock. On the contrary, he still looks like
a man who has just begun his career and one who can throw the ball like a 19-year-old boy.
The 4,300 yards, 44 touchdowns and 7 steals are a proof of his legendary character. Doing all these things at an age of 41 plus is simply mind-baffling.
Brett has always been a winner. His personal numbers, the high mountains of achievements, his surpassing legends of the game and just his youthful attitude are all signs of a genuine winner. He has shown that he is better than the rest, in every aspect of
NFL.
No quarter-back has ever been more victorious than he has, leading by 33 victories. The number of seasons he has been part of the winning side is just insane. I mean if you think of how long he has been playing for? You might say that it’s not that big a
deal but once you know that he has been part of 180 victorious seasons, it makes one's jaw drop.
Believe it or not, he isn't getting old as his field-kicks still have the power. He still is the king of interception. The man is an immortal football great.
He has performed amazingly at the super bowls and probably will reach his third super bowl soon. Favre, without a smitten of doubt, has to be the best quarter-back that the football industry has ever come across. He has created several benchmarks that will
stick around for years and decades to come.
It seems that no one will come close to the milestones achieved by him. It would have to be a man with super powers who will have to play for a minimum of 15 to 20 years. So till then, no one is coming close to his records. He has created some concrete history,
one that cannot be altered and will remain stagnant in the hearts of the fans and players.
Who can say that Brett Favre is a great player but probably not the best quarter-back out there?
