The dedication and service of Shore family for the sport of Ice Hockey is an exception
There are so many examples of an individual doing so much for the sports of ice hockey, but you would not find many examples of whole family giving many sacrifices and contributing towards the sports.
One such example is Shore family in USA, who has many members playing in the different levels of ice hockey. Drew Shore, Nick Shore and Quentin Shore are three brothers, who have been helped by their parents so much and they owe them for becoming professional
ice hockey players.
They have got another brother Baker Shore who is also coming up as an ice hockey player but three of them are already playing at professional level, with Drew and Nick already getting calls from National Hockey League (NHL) sides.
The eldest of the Shore brothers, Drew told that their parents were very supporting when they were growing up, even though they were not associated with ice hockey. He is very proud to have such parents and could not have asked for more, as he said,
“Neither of my parents played hockey or knew a lot about the sport, but when I started playing they were very supportive of my brothers and I. So for all of the hard work they put in, I couldn’t have asked for better parents.”
All of the three elder brothers have been associated with University of Denver and Drew is very honoured to be part of their set up and hailed their contribution in their upbringing, as he said,
“When I was growing up, the University of Denver won their back to back championships. You obviously want to win, so their program was something I definitely wanted to be a part of. Even though we didn’t win, it was a great experience and I wouldn’t trade
it for anything.”
Drew was selected 44th overall in the second round of the 2009 NHL draft by Florida Panthers, whereas Nick was selected in the 3rd round of the 2010 NHL draft by Los Angeles Kings at 82nd overall.
Drew is 21 years old, Nick will turn 20 later this month and Quentin is 18 and still playing for University of Denver.
