Someone said there were "trace amounts" of DNA.

Then someone came back later and said "correction, there was a significant amount."

Could the trace amount also be significant?

    Trace and significant are totally different things when you want to talk about something. Trace amounts only defines the quantity of the substance that you are looking at. Significant amount is used to show the significance or importance of the trace amount you have discovered.
