  1. I'm with Chenga as no one knew how the Government would react to such a movement. No one had ever stood up to the Government before.

  3. None of the above.  It was brought on by dissidents who had no idea how the govt would react.

  4. That would be D. They failed miserably because they were mowed down by the Chinese Army, not supported by it. Chinese and Soviet communism had been diverging since the 60s at least. And finally, the only thing the "great proletarian revolutions" succeeded at was installing dictatorships that were communist in name only.
